Simple violet eotd

here’s a super easy look I did the other day.

Used monistat as a base all over the eye area. Then slathered NYX’s jumbo eye pencil in lavender on the lid area and smudged it outwards and upwards. Used a nice big flat brush to pat Ulta’s Violet eyeshadow all over the lid and blended upwards to the brow. Finally topped off with UD’s 24/7 liner in electric.

if you see little orange beads in my brow hairs… well, it was the end of the day and I was washing up using JustFr0nd’s AHA Exfoliating cleanser. :)

Manicure Protector

So I don’t really do my nails that often… but I was kinda ‘mesmerized’ by this product. I thought it was so… erm.. girly… and diva-ish. I can imagine myself walking through the house fluttering these things at my kids and going, “I can’t help you… my nails need to dry”.

They’re plastic tip things that you can slide on to your fingertips after you’ve done your manicure.

Here’s the descriptions on the back of the box. I don’t read Japanese so have no idea what they’re talking about but the pictures do speak for themselves.

WLC #8, #9 and #10

Hi Cat! *waves* noticed you just popped by my blog… sincere apologies in not posting lately…

ok… haven’t forgotten about you or the challenge. Just life has kinda overwhelmed me. Plus its the short school holidays so I’m ooozing kid demands. Really really hope they all go back to school soon! sigh… blogging has really taken the low spot in the long list of life’s priorities.

BUT exercise and watching what I eat is becoming a lifestyle habit. :)

ok reports… I’m pleased to say I’ve cracked the 70kg mark! I dropped about 1.5 kg so far… finally some progress. LOL! I’m really proud of myself for sticking with the game plan this long even with no actual weight loss for so many weeks.

WLC #8 challenge -

The challenge for this week is to tell me why you are taking part in this challenge? why did you sign up? do you feel you have achieved anything?

why…

why do I want to continue lugging along weight that I’ve carried for almost 9 years now… weight that I acquired while pregnant with my first child.

why wouldn’t I wanna spend some time/energy to take care of myself? If I don’t bother to, who will?

why wouldn’t I enjoy the company of other like-minded people with similar goals? already I have another friend who is posting her results on a regular basis and she’s not even in the WLC group. You all inspire me and keep me going when I lose heart and wanna quit.

why? why not?

what I’ve achieved… a more active lifestyle… more aware of my food intake… feel better overall :)

WLC #9 challenge -

Food Diary!

erm, I don’t really take note of what I eat and carring a food diary around with me just isn’t practical. I’m just not that meticulous… so sorry, ain’t gonna do this particular challenge. my to-do list is way too long already :(

WLC #10 challenge -

this weeks challenge is to tell me 3 things you think have changed about yourself since you started the challange, they can be physical or mental or anything you want!!

1. I need to tighten my belt on my pants.. am considering getting new ones but not right now. :P

2. higher energy levels. feel better through the day.

3. smaller tummy size! since I’ve been watching what I eat, I find I’m eating less and my tummy is getting used to that. Plus, I don’t eat past 8pm now and the other day, we had a late dinner… just couldn’t finish my food. It was crazy. My tummy just kept saying “no!”. It wasn’t full but it didn’t want the food in it. That’s a good thing right?

that’s it for me for now… kids are calling. Like that’s unusual.. sigh..

I *need* a kid free 24 hours!!! soon!!!! I’d settle for an afternoon off too. :P

Pretty hangers

We went out as a family to City Square recently. Its a lovely new eco friendly shopping centre. The best part about it for us is the shuttle bus available from our town central. My kids loves taking buses. :)

Anyway, on to why I wanted to post this. Aren’t these lovely? I can see using these for my prettier dresses.

Spring Time from BFTE

Here’s a nice “spring green” look from Beauty from the Earth. Not that we have spring here in Singapore. Actually, its been hot, hotter and hottest. I should do more of a desert eotd sometime. That’s how I feel… How I wish it’d just rain really hard and clear the air.

DSC08846

Monistat – base all over the eye
NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Horse Radish – all over lid and smudged up
BFTE Lavish – patted all over the lid
BFTE Gem – outer V and crease; outer lower lash line
BFTE Aqua Mist – mid lower lash line; upper crease blended upwards into
BFTE Butterfly – highlight; inner lower lash line
MM Perfect liquid liner in Green

Some descriptions from BFTE’s site

Lavish : Green-Yellow with medium sheen.

Gem : A hybrid of Teal and Sea Green.

What kind of greens do you like? the more jewel tones? or the more turquoise?

A little bit of randomness…

DSC08840

This is what sits on my computer table every day while my little girl is off at school. I ‘bear-sit”. Otherwise, I’d be lonely and she’ll be lonely. :P

It does fill me with warm ‘fuzziness’.

DSC08844

Here’s something that my kids love to eat at McDonald’s. Its PEPPER FRIES! well, according to them its shaker fries but… whatever. How to make… super simple.

Buy a packet of fries. Ask for a brown paper bag. Get about 5-6 packets of black pepper. Pour fries and pepper in bag. Shake vigourously. If you’re too tired to do it, the kids are more than happy to help. Pour out onto the serving tray.

Optional : eat with pepper ketchup… see?

My Eyeliner collection

Just thought I’d line up all my liners in a pretty swatch… so here’s everything I use on a ‘regular’ basis along with some thoughts on each.

TOP ROW (left to right)

Silkygirl long wearing eyeliner in 02 Black Brown

haven’t used this in eons! especially since I got Maybelline’s gel liner. But this was my first liner ever… so it deserves mention :P

Silkygirl funky eyelights pencil in Ocean Blue (02)

Silkygirl funky eyelights pencil in Pure Purple (04)

to be honest, haven’t used these two in quite a while. Not that they aren’t good… just have gotten really distracted my my MM liquid liners. Will revisit them soon I think, these swatches have gotten me interested again :P

L’oreal HIP liner in 950 Navy

L’oreal HIP liner in 940 Green

Love these two especially for lining the upper waterline. They stay for quite a while and add depth to my lash line. Have been experimenting with using them on my lower lash line using the ELF small angled brush… so far, working out ok. But need to practice a little more to get the effect I’d really like

Majolica Majorca Neo liner in Black (BK999)

Majolica Majorca Neo liner in Shiny Black (BK911)

Majolica Majorca Perfect liner in Green (GR604)

Majolica Majorca Perfect liner in Blue (BL603)

what can I say? I use these liners most of the time. A small thin line defines my eyes while a thicker line with a wing adds a touch of drama. Tacks a little practice to get it done right but once mastered, its the “go to” liner for nice dark bold lines.

DSC08762

BOTTOM ROW (left to right)

UD 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Deviant

UD 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Electric

UD 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Covet

just got these three liners from UD’s GWP promotion. Deviant is full size while Electric and Covet are trial sizes. I have got to say these have to be the silkiest, smoothest liners I’ve ever tried. No issue with smudging soon after applied but once they set, they don’t go anywhere. Lovely. The only down side is the price. *sigh*

Cream/Gel EyeLiner by Maybelline EyeStudio in brown

I don’t use this nearly enough. Find the brush fiddly compared to the other pencils. But I do like this for tightlining on top of other colored liners. Eg if I use the Silkygirl liner and want to define my lash line a little more, I use this smooshed (is that a word??) into my lashes so they stand out more. The colored line is still there but my lashes have an identity of their own.

A couple of blog giveaways

here’s a completely random post… all about giveaways

http://makeuptrialsandtribulations.blogspot.com/2010/02/roll-up-roll-up-girl-giving-away-makeup.html

really interested in the Smashbox eyeshadows and lipglass

http://makeupper.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-first-ever-giveaway.html

MAC pigments… don’t mind trying those… hardly have anything from MAC except a couple of pigment samples that a lovely friend gifted me a while back.

http://sparkleandshade.blogspot.com/2010/02/something-happier-aka-giveaway-time.html

A Fryinnae gift voucher… that is one company that is sooo on my “to buy” list of places to shop. Just have to scrape some money together and *not* feel guilty about spending moolah on myself and not my kids.
